Shot just before dawn this morning. The moon was low on the sky, so there was a lot of atmospheric distortion. Better than nothing though. :wink

I was hoping someone went out to grab a photo of the blue moon. I was hoping to, but it's just to dang cold up here.

Looks like I could walk right out onto it -- nice shot thumb.gif

    I like it thumb.gif

I was planning to grab some shots but our moon is covered by clouds. :cry

Thanks Mary Kim, and Lisa. Yeah, it's been cloudy here as well the past few days. It was relatively clear this morning when I shot this, but still a bit hazy. And the moon was too low as I mentioned. We're totally socked-in right now. I really wanted to get a good shot of this blue moon but mother nature just isn't cooperating. :cry

if you had a better tripod that would cure the atmospheric distortion.:D

    Hahaha rolleyes1.gif Thanks, guys.

Here's a reshoot from this AM. The moon was higher, it was earlier, and clearer. PLUS, the moon being more like 48 hours past full, we get a little better shadow detail. This is much better I think.

Don't you have a longer lens? It's hard to make out the details on such a small version.

    Seriously, great shot, Joel. thumb.gif

Wow, that's amazing. I am always blown away by shots of the moon like this. I know it definitely looked amazing last night. Unfortunately we were on our way home from a long day. Part of me for a second thought this might have been the Blue Moon beer:D
