Wedding Picture Which one?

I am choosing a cover photo for this B&G's proof portfolio. It is a 12 up book and will hold 252 images. The cover will have a photo of about 5x7 size, and their name, the date of the Wedding and my studio info on it. Usually I just pick a picture and plop it on there, this time I wanted to try something a little different. I have an "original" and then 1 that I played with. Which would you use? OR If you like play with the "original" and re-post an edit of what you think it should look like. Just make sure to post your steps, so we can all learn from it!

Thanks a bunch!

Definately the original. They look sick in the second one.

I like the edit and #4, but I can't decide out of those two. #3 seems to lose her face in the white background so don't use that one. Did that help?

I like #4 the best. The original (#1) is nice, but the BG is a bit bright, IMO. I don't like the desaturated "look" of shot #2. The edit on #4 works well for me clap.gif

let me preface this by saying that i am not a traditionalist (for the most part), nor a wedding photog. with that said, i prefer the edit of the first image.

what about the couple? do you think they would prefer the more traditional color image or something a little funkier?

I'm going to be different here and suggest possibly a B&W of the first one. #1 is good because you can see both of their faces but the lighting is very bright, especially if the actual cover of the book is white or black. #2 improves the shot only in the way of taking away the brightness, but possibly should be fully desaturated or only selective colour the bouquet (just lightly though like in #2.)

The last group of pictures while better with the new background, has her looking away from the camera. For the cover shot I'd like to see both of their faces fully or both faces partially, not one and not the other.

I vote for #1. It looks natural and the couple look very relaxed. #4 is nice, but the groom's smile is too big, the profiles too strong and they look stiff.

THanks for the input so far! Keep it coming!

I will try a subdued (sp?) b&w/color when I get home tonight. (I am at my real job for now.)

Well after much thought, and suggestions from here and FM, I went with #2. My coworker actually gave me the easiest critique of the first, he said the green was just to bright and competed with the B&G for attention, #2 he said really put the focus on them as the clear subject.

    I had to agree...

So we will see Friday, just how it looks!
