It also says it when I try to go to my site... I was going to link someone to my portfolio, but it would do no good to them now. Glad I checked my link before sending it to them.

Sorry for the brief hassle folks, it's all fixed and better now. As always, http://smugmug.wordpress.com for updates!

ahh.. thanks, although, that information doesn't really help alot.

Anyways, I have photos to edit from an engagement shoot I just got done with. I'm not going to worry about this right now (I will when I need to upload them though!). But, any answers from the SmugMug team would be cool.

I wonder if I can still upload with Star*Explorer? hmmm... maybe

Is this strange, or is it something I'm not doing correctly?....I followe this link and there was a current post about the outage (but no post about it already being corrected as of Andy's subsequent Dgrin posts).

What I thought was strange is that I subscribed to the RSS feed for SmugMug Status Updates, which I checked and rechecked in the past few moments, and I don't find this current post about the outage in that feed...seems like it ought to be there.

It says that it was fixed.
    1/2/10 – Site offline

We’re investigating a problem with the site. We hope to be back online shortly. Sorry about the inconvenience!
14:15 PST – We found and fixed the problem, everything should be back online. Sorry again!

As to the RSS feed, I don't use RSS feeds, so I'm not subscribed to that and cannot comment. thumb.gif

I'm interested as to what the problem was too.

I'm not sure what more we can say, other than 'we're back up' which we did say hours ago on our official Status blog, the http://smugmug.wordpress.com

It is possible that your feed reader doesn't handle things well when Smugmug edits a posting rather than adds a new posting. When Smugmug said that it was fixed, they didn't make a new post. They edited a previous post with the info that it was now fixed. Some feed readers might not pick up the edit. Certainly if you look at it directly in WordPress, you will see the current status.

Hey Tim, sometimes even I don't know - especially on a holiday weekend.

When Don & Ops have something important to say about an outage, they do so on the Status Blog (and have, many times in the past).

    Thanks!
