How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thanks Ann. I was hoping it would do better but the competition is really rough in this contest. Lots of local pros enter it. This is the first time I've ever won any $ with one of my pics so I'm happy.

    re winner
I'll bet that winning photographer was pleased when he saw that both birds were in focus, etc. Turned the right way and "caught".

    good photo.

1st WTG Harry and Congrats of course thumb.gif

but I'm sorry if that shot is the winner somebody needs to get there eyes checked !!!!! umph.gif. No and it's not cause I'm on your team!!
The winning shot is good no doubt but Ho Hum (maybe cause I see so many great ones here).
You've culled better shots then that.......I did a little a test .......Laura come here and tell me which of these shots you like (didn't tell her anything else) and she picked yours right off, why I asked?
The baby shot is crisp, the eyes jump out at you, the other one looks OOF and I can't see the eyes that well, and it looks kinda bland!!! Then I told her the deal, she said you must be kidding :D

    Just our 2 cents Boss
and no I haven't found any Osprey umph.gif:D

    Harry,

First of all, congratulations ylsuper.gif Secondly, you was robbed......lol Paul's pic captured some nice action, but not only doesn't it do much for me, it looks to be a bit OE on the neck and wings ne_nau.gif IMHO, your shot is more interesting/entertaining and much better technically.

I'm thinking with your new Wimberly and 500mm lens, you'll kick some serious bird butt next year :lol

    Ben, Alan & Shay,

Thanks for your kind words and support. I think my shot is better too. Then, of course, we have to realize that there are a lot of photographers who didn't even get 3rd place who are looking at my shot and saying "I don't believe it!!! My shots are much better than that lousy egret chick shot"!

The judge for this year's competition was a reptologist and not a photographer as in years past. I have won a few competitions and lost many more. I have learned not to be impacted either way by their outcomes. I will take the $ though. If I get another 48 3rd places I'll be able to pay off my 500mm lens. rolleyes1.gif
