C&C Mammoth Mountain in the winter

Hi. I am new to DGrin as well as photography. I know about the rule of thirds and I tried it out on the landscape. I'd appreciate any help on whatever it may be. I know this picture isn't great. Thank you.

    I like the first one. I wish the clouds were not so thick though. I want to see a little more mountain.

    yeah I wanted to get more mountain in the picture but I was too far away. Do you think that there is too much sky?

    There isn't too much sky in the first, IMO, because you have a lot of great details in the clouds. In the second, though, it's a bit blown out so it's just a sea of flat white. If you can recover those details while editing, that's always a possibility!

    Remember that you can break rules, in the right situations. Just keep shooting and processing and you'll come up with your own set of guidelines. :D
