C&C welcome.
I have so much to learn when it comes to portraits. But I really want to learn so all options for improvement are welcome.

Love the smile thumb.gif The shot is a bit on the soft side, but it doesn't really distract me. What does distract me a bit is the white thing on the left-side of her face (a bandaid of some sort?).

I didn`t even see the band-aid. But yes, you are right it is distracting, and yes it is a band-aid.
Should I try to remove it in Photoshop?

The photo was taken on the streets of Patong, Thailand where this lovely lady was begging for money. She had the biggest smile ever!

I actually like the un-cropped shot much better. In that version, the bandaid does not bother me.

    +1

The uncropped version changes the entire picture. It goes from an uninteresting portrait to very interesting candid. The context is everything in this shot...forget the potrait portion.

Well composed. Smile and the background of a car for such a beggar add to the overall impact of the image.
