    Rainbow,
    I love this shot!
    The color is fantastic.
It even works that he's giving you that stare, it's not a friendly one, yet his body language is somewhat relaxed.
You also showed just a glimpse of the backroom, so different from the storefront with a hint of another person.

I'm like a kid in an apothecary store!

I am glad you like it. I would not be surprised if the proprietor worked there seven days and cooked all his lunches and dinners in that back room. I assume he bought fresh food from the nearby markets and did not pick some of those questionable items on his shelves (like that seahorse in the window)... ne_nau.gif

    Thanks!

    Nice picture!

Notice the way he's not blocking the entrance, but neither is he smiling exactly…

    I'd like to see it in B & W…

The guy is just standing there staring out into the street. I assume he is just bored when business is slow. He happened to glance at me just as I snapped the shot (I was probably the most interesting thing in the street then...) and subsequently ignored me again.

B & W loses a lot to me. It is probably not a coincidence that his display features red and "gold", the Chinese colors for happiness and prosperity. I am attaching a small shot of a quick conversion to be able to compare:

I think you're right; it looks much better in colour!

There seems to be more depth than there is in B&W; thanks!
