OK... shot a series of photos of a few of my wife's shoes and these are my favorites. What do you guys think:

1 - Over the Rainbow

I really like the viewing angle of #1 and the artistic nature of #3A.

Definitely a cool idea you have going here! :D

    Am I in heaven?

Love. These. And the photos aren't bad either!

Can I have those Red Aligator Pliners?

Love 3A the best, though wonder about a centered square crop.

    1. Girlfriend is hard core shoe connoiseuse - YES!
    2. AWESOME pictures. The kaleidescope idea is freakin' brilliant!

You are so on a roll.

If I hadn't looked at so many of the C&C threads already I'd be asking Kerry if I could judge instead - I could enjoy all the shoes but wouldn't be intimidated by all these awesome shots!!!

I'm a big fan of #1. thumb.gif Wonder if it would look better or worse if the shoes continued their arc "off-frame" instead of stopping the way they do.

The kaleidoscope images are a bit much for my taste.

WOW! These are all awesome! Great ideas and very well executed. I think I prefer #1 personally, and #2 second. The kaleidoscopes are cool but take the focus away from the theme. #1 & #2 definitely are all about shoes.

By the way, when you have time, I'd be interested in knowing your lighting set up for these. Large soft box camera left and right? Just curious.

    Anyway, great shots.

I'm really liking the "one more"! All great shots, and the kaleidoscope idea is awesome, but I love the simplicity of that shot. The colors are rich, the arch leads your eye, the depth of field is perfect. My vote is for "one more".

    Wonderful Idea
I love your concept - #2 is my favorite - While I love DJP's brand of shoes, the name inside being some prominent in the image bothers me unless the image was for advertising.

I was planning on cloning out the branding on the shoes. First I wanted to narrow it down to one image so I am not doing a lot of extra work.

    Thanks,

I love all of these and the simplicity rocks. The kaleidoscopes - brilliant. I would, however, like to see a lovely pair of well manicured bare feet in the middle of that semi-circle of shoes with the idea of "decisions". You know, adding the human element for comparison and see if it trumps the simple, beautiful repetition of the shoes alone. Just an idea, but they are great regardless!

    Em,

Great suggestion. I was planning on shooting a few more this week and was thinking of something along these lines.

Create the kaleidoscope effect with the shoes directly? I assume she has enough of them. :D
