Snowboard Park: Riding the Picnic Table

Headed up to a ski resort here in Japan called Appi Kougen for 4 days of riding and as one of my friends runs the park there I thought I would take my camera and see if I could get some shots. As this was my first time shooting in the snow it was a little difficult, but still tones of fun. Any C&C is appreciated, also if you know any good sites or forums that talk about how to shoot this kind of photography I would love to know!

really nice work here - sharp, interesting action and good exposures. For the most part the colors are good - except for the reds - they're blown out a bit. Are you shooting Canon? I know my 1dmkIII has a tendancy to blow out the reds a bit.

Thanks for the great comment. I also noticed a couple photos were over red, and I think I might have miss set my camera's white balance when I was using the flash. I fixed it and tried to replace the photos, but they still seem kinda red on here. Oh well, nothing to cry about.

Alright well, to me, the last picture seems a little...whats the word. bland... If there were a better contrast between the snowboarder and the sky, then the picture would look better.

Nice, first out of the gate shots...

tough to get board separation when covered with snow. Reds may be hot but it fits the subjects, imo.

Thanks a tone. Glad to see the reds are no too offensive, but I will make sure to watch the WB next time I am shooting
