While visiting my in-laws in Huffman, Texas (NW Houston), I took advantage to take some images of some red shouldered hawks. They are everywhere down there in the winter.

This last one was on a utility line where most like to perch anyway, but with my aversion to these perches I cropped this a bit to be more of a portrait with it looking directly at me.

And as a bonus my first pic of 2010, a distant red tailed hawk that I chased in my Honda CRV as it hopped from tree to tree. It did not want its picture taken.

Nice captures Stephen. I like that last one in particular; maybe because you had to chase himrolleyes1.gif

I'd include the feet regardless of the perch.

Maybe you can minimize it's effect some other way?

At any rate, it looks like you are starting the New Year off right, Stephen. clap.gif

Great shots, Stephen! Looks like the guy was sitting there posing for you. eek7.gif
Concerning the portrait, I'd use an 8x10 crop on it and call it a day. nod.gif

Some good shots, Stephen! Like the third one, and the portrait best!

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
