Got up early & went to the lake, but no one else was awake. By the time I waded through the snow back to my car my coffee was cold, but I was happy.

Nice. The beavers out here are in such small creeks (Nevada) that more often than not they make bank holes instead of the cool lodges like you have in your pic.

Thanks. And I had no idea beavers could be so flexible in their housing arrangements.

The lodge in my photo is quite near the road and I lived directly across the street from it years ago. Spent many afternoons down near the lake and even saw the beaver family a few times.
