How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

thanks all... just want to add that these horses come from Canada I think, premerin horses, their urine is used for contrceptive pills.. this little place Crimson Acres has more and more all the time. Little kids go riding there and they have riding camps etc. The horses are all beautifully cared for and although this horse looks sad she is'nt .. she is waiting for her feed.. I wander around with my camera and just love it there... thanks for looking.

Actually, Premarin is a hormone that is extracted from the urine of pregnant mares. It is most often used to aid in the treatment of symptoms associated with Menopause. There is quite a controversy regarding this subject. While there are synthetic substitutes Premarin is still used. There have been quite a few instances of animal cruelty to these mares.

Since the Mares have to be pregnant to obtain the hormone the foals are often treated as a "by-product" and often sold to slaughter after they are weaned. There are quite a few organizations that try and get these foals adopted out before they are shipped to slaughter. We adopted one 4 years ago.

Thanks Rohirrim, These folks who care for these horses are wonderful.. it warms my heart to see such gentle care. I also love to listen to the little gems of wisdom they impart to the kids when they are all mucking out, or grooming the horses..just real nice folks..iloveyou.gif
