I was granted a full media pass last sunday to shoot our V8 Touring Cars. Never had anywhere near this opportunity & had a ball. I could walk almost anywhere unchallenged with the suppliedgrey photogs jacket on...free food/drinks & acsess to the media centre.

Wow what a thrill for you my friend, right up there with the big boys and all their toys, and girl butts, and and and just the thrill of it all.
Great coverage of shots Gus, I've never been to a car race, looks like a great event to attend.........I'm really happy for you Gus, must have been a fantastic day for you, and what a great set of photos, you did real good.
Thanks for sharing...... Skippy (Australia)

That was amazing. I don't think I wold have been able to take those kind of pictures if I was in that situation. All the excitement, adrenaline pumping, crashes, girls butts.....
It looks like you kept your wits about you and got some very nice shots.
Congratulations and I hope the press passes keep coming.

You should show them to your local paper. They would definitely take them. I know you said that you can't sell the pics but I wonder was that a bar on you selling prints? I'm sure that the series organisers want newspaper and magazine coverage?
Again, brilliant stuff.
Shay.
The local paper had 2 photogs there. I dont know what they had but man they had some gear & mkII's...odd thing was i was speaking to one & he said he had never ever used raw

I was as close as 3 feet to these blokes doing about 260 kph (160mph)...they back fire on gear changes & it blows your ear drums out !

The price paid for a day out...
I know we need more girls
THE END
The mkII's are amazing on full auto. I heard one for the first time on Sunday ripping off a burst. it sounded like a machine gun . There are rumours of Canon bringing out a new camera in the Autumn. There might be a few second hand mkII's available if this happens.
Shay.
Simply fantastic!
Thanks for posting this.
Sam
Gus, I know it has already been said, but great work! These are fantastic.

By looking at this I would think that you have been doing this for years, not your first time.

The actual pit pass was a 'sign-on' early in the day. You could only have 30 mins & all the pro's were in early & took the good times but fortunately for me ...that huge stack was 10 mins into my 30 min allocation & everyone pitted straight away for fuel.
Nice to see a progressive organisation that welcomes the amatures.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
Loved the crash sequence and even though you didn't post any bird pics, you got plenty of butt shots :lol :lol
Good work mate ,
Steve
