Kiko Francisco, seven years old. Awesome.
I like the shots but they just don't have that razor sharp magazine quality. Not sure if it's gear, technique, pp or combination. DOF should be narrower but I just didn't trust the 30D to lock focus so I dialed it up to 5.6 instead of 2.8 (on my 17-55). Have to do some looking into this and would, of course, appreciate any suggestions.
Composition-wise, my hardcore skating friend says air shots are meaningless without showing where the bottom is. Also, if you show a sequence you have to show the landing cause any idiot can launch himself into the air and then splatter all over the cement--it's the landing that makes it good. That's what he says anyway!

D700, D300, Nikkor 35-70 F/2.8, Nikkor 50mm F/1.8, Nikkor 70-200 AF-S VR F/2.8, Nikkor AF-S 1.7 teleconverter II,(2) Profoto D1 500 Air,SB-900, SB-600, (2)MB-D10, MacBook Pro
I like the first best.
CROP:

I like the crop better. I don't know if you used fill flash or not, but a those could use a tad more. I would have got down in the snake as well. and had him try and jump as close to you as possible. But what you have is pretty good.

I also like the cropped version better.
But wait...that would involve interacting! With people!
Yeah I guess that's the next step--managing the scene to get what I want.
No fill flash though I wished I had my 430ex at the time. I applied some general "fill light" in Lightroom but it was quick and dirty (unlocalized) and washed out some of the darker details. I could probably do a better job of this.
Thanks guys for the input. Much appreciated.
