I posted another similar shot in Landscapes, so I thought I'd share this one here for those that don't venture far.

    Thanks Andrew,

This is about 10 miles South of Glen Rose, TX.

Yeah, I really liked the distinct bands of colors.

Awesome light--Is this the "magical" light everyone talks about?

Because of the colors I get the sense it's warm--but I know you guys are freezing down there (freezing for you anyway).

Glad you posted this--it's very beautiful. sigh.

    Thanks Liz,

I think that you get your best chances at "magical" light 30 minutes either side of a sunrise or sunset. A lot of times the after glow is nicer than the sunset. Just depends of course...

    Thanks Craig,

I've been seriously looking for a good "sunset" location around Fort Worth. If you know of any good spots, please PM me.

    Thanks Mary,

Other than for my hard-copy portfolio, I've never (since shooting digital) printed any of my shots for the house. While I probably won't print this one either, it does tug on me for that purpose. I don't think it compares to my Colorado sunset shots of 2009, but it has something about it that I like.

I've printed a few sunset photos of mine and they turn out beautifully :D For me .. when you can catch that sunsetting beauty behind a bare tree it's perfect. You got that with this thumb.gif

    Howdy Randy

Really love the colors and mood in this. The silouetted (sp.?) tree really elevates this above the usual.

    Thanks Jack,

Somehow this reminds me of a Serengeti sunset with the tree in there.
