I like it - it's different. But I'd crop down - while the affect looks cool on the goalie I'm not sure I like so much of the dead space in the upper right - but I'd probably make the same comment if you hadn't changed the colors

Same for me, a crop down would make it better and it's a bit too green overall for my tastes.
Hello from a UND grad class of 82'. I like the processing but would tone down the whites just a bit. The Sioux colors are white and green so I am not bothered by the green overall tint! You have the perfect start to a poster here. I would definitely use the space you have to add graphics! Cropping the dead space leaves you too little space under the player, you end up almost square.

+1 on the tighter crop. To me the focus in this should be on his eye - not the space to the right and upper-right.
This rocks...
I liked the first one as it was..looked a bit edgier.

I think the crop helped (but a little loser would likely be OK too), IMO it made the player’s face the main subject in the frame, in the original my eye where being drawn to the pad/glove (don’t the hockey name), would still like to see some work done to the blowout area on pad/glove
I liked it as it was as well. Looked my like art to me. This is a simple case of so many different opinions, and there is no right or wrong way to do things. I say, it's your pic, do with how you please.

That's what makes this so fascinating - all of the different opinions. In the end, it is your picture though and you need to make it please you - not us. What version do you like?
I like the edgier look of the first take, like someone said, a good start for a poster, fix the face on the first one, add in the team logo, and you have a poster.

I think it's great, I like lots of color and exposure...looks gritty.
Right up my alley....
