and zoo. Benson's Animal Farm in NH. I remember going here as a little kid. It's been abandoned for 22 years and is only open once in a while by the volunteers trying to turn it into a municipal park/museum.

This is the kind of shot that grabs and holds me for a while. Bold colors, but in particular, the whompyjawed (non-symmetrical) shingles on the wall and curved side of house, just torture me internally. One side of my brain demands everything to be symmetrical, the other, more fun side, gets a bit too much satisfaction when things are totally out-of-wack. rolleyes1.gif

Thanks. It's definitely a playful structure...what with being a giant platform shoe and all. I hope the restoration goes well and we can see it in all it's 1970s glory.

Love the red shoe house (especially the shot of it in your gallery. I remember visiting what was then called Benson's Wild Animal Farm in the late 1940's. We lived in Southeastern Mass. and the trip to New Hampshire was quite an adventure. Amazing how progress has shrunk the world! Thanks for stirring up old memories.

Wow - that's a coincidence. You have to be a local to know about this place. I'm planning to go back in the spring, but I have to admit, the day I went the light was pretty great and the bare trees just added to the atmosphere.

What Randy said . . . I love the "whompyjawed" shoe shot! Fun colors and funky lines/shapes. Sounds like a great place to so some shooting.
