I get jazzed when I get to go to an away gym and don't have to fight the yellow at home, so I'm sharing some recent girls' basketball shots. Shot using a 40D, 85mm, 1/500, ISO 1600.
C/C are welcome!

To me it seems that you were a bit too close for most of these shots. You keep cutting off hands and feet. White balance seems off on some of these too -- skin is slightly greenish on #3 and #4.

On the plus side, your focus, DOF, and motion freezing are very good, and your shots are timed well to catch the right moment.

Got bored with digital and went back to film.

For me #1 and #2 are probably too close and neither has the ball in the shot which hurts.

I like the framing and action in the last three. In all three you have the ball, players' faces, and most of their limbs.

I agree that the WB looks a little off - This is a major issue I have all the time. Perhaps the green uniforms are adding a green tint.

I think I like the composition and action of #3 the best but it does seem to have a tint that you may be able to adjust out.

    Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, guys...this confirms my thoughts. Looks like I'll be using the 50mm more often.

Looks like you are standing underneath the basket, my favorite spot. The 50mm is a great lens for that distance.
