So, here we were, December 31st, New Years Eve. My wife calls me at work at about 11:30am and says that she is starting to have contractions. No problem. At 12:30pm, she calls me and asks if I can come home soon so I can watch the kids (our 3 year old daughter and 16 month old son). I said, "sure, let me wrap things up here at work and I'll be home".

I got home, had some lunch with the kids, and proceeded to play with them while my wife laboured in the tub. Everything was going fine. I made sure that all the bags and everything was ready to go when it came time to go to the hospital.

4:15pm - My wife calls me upstairs to the bathroom where she tells me "it's time to go NOW. Call the babysitter". So I called the babysitter, got the truck loaded, and we were off by about 4:45pm

5pm - We get to the hospital, and make it up to the birthing centre. My wife was int he room for about 5 minutes. Her water broke, and in the bed she went.

5:40pm, the Doctor walked into the room, and proceeded to get her gloves on and told me to get mine on also.

5:44pm - With the assistance of the Doctor, I delivered my new son Félix Theodore Dukovac! Healthy, both mum and baby!
Midnight - we celebrated New Years, our anniversary and our new son!! WOOT!! :clap

My wife went from 0cm to 8 in the span of about 20 minutes. Unfortunately for her, she progressed so fast that there was no time for an epidural. A

Anyhow, below are some photos of our new son, 11 days old. He already sleeps most of the night (thank you sweet Jesus!).

Enjoy!
Joe

Thank you everyone for your warmest wishes :D It's been a little bit of an adjustment, but a pretty easy one since he's so quiet. Anyhow, thanks again everyone!

I think because she didn't have an epidural the labour went much faster, and so did the delivery. I'm of course not a medical professional so I don't really know. :D

Yeah, I thought it was pretty inanely fast myself. Our other two kids were 16 and 12 hours.....I guess if we have a fourth, he/she will be out in about 1 hour!! rolleyes1.gif The nurse told us that if we decide to have another one to get to the hospital as soon as labour starts.

Well, that's generally what they say. And the recovery is usually easier on the mom and baby. I never had an epidural, so I can't compare, but I was walking around within minutes of delivery.

Hope you are managing the nights..sounds like you've lucked out in that respect. HOPE IT CONTINUES!! I've been guiltily absent lately. I made the move over to Flickr in December and have just been having FUN there. Here I feel that it can be a bit harsh. Don't get me wrong I've learned a TON but just like to kind of "vege out" with my pictures---only hear the good without the bad, lol! I come here for my spankings and over there is all about "GREAT shot", lol! I've been into baby, baby lately too. You are SO lucky to have a young live in model. I'm dying to get shooting some newborns soon but it won't be until my youngest heads off to nursery school (in 2 years). With 4 kids at home I'm on BIG time 24/24 shifts.

Did I post my stream here? I'll try to put it in my signature...*did it!
