Luck would have it that I had my shift switched to an evening today. Gave me an opportunity to go to a nearby town to witness the Olympic torch in action. A great honor. Not sure when or if i'll ever get to see this again.
I agree, I like #1 out of both of your entries.
I wish you could have gotten a smidge more of the crowd in the first, but I understand there is no redo and #1 does work--they both do, but I like #1 most.

I like #2, because in #1 I didn't, at first, notice the torch. I also like, in #2 the group of photographers photographing the event, versus the man in the background, who seems like he's stumbled upon the event and is trying to figure out what's up.
