Time-lapse ideas

Hi,

Im currently doing a biological photography course at university. One of the assignments thats been given to us is to produce 8 images taken over a time frame (can be up to 8 weeks) which show a time lapse sequence. Ideas such as a butterfly emerging from a cocoon and decomposing fruit have been raised however I was wondering if you had any other interesting ideas for me to look into.

Only fairly obvious ones - eg plant seed germinating and growing up with roots going down, small animal carcass decomposing, flower bud opening and perhaps closing again (eg crocus), flowers tracking the sun, activity at entrance of ant colony.
