camera raw editing

I downloads several raw format images from some camera reviews that included samples. Then I opened them in Camera Raw to tried editing the images. Camera Raw seemed to know what camera they were from. Here's my question: I also downloads some images from a Sigma dp2, which is not on the list of cameras support in Camera Raw, yet Camera Raw knew the image was from a DP2 and all the editing functions seem to work. How do I know if I was working in the raw format or some other format?

When editing a non raw camera file, such as a JPEG, the title bar will state "Camera Raw X.x - JPEG" while a raw file would state the camera name such as "Camera Raw X.x - Canon EOS 10D".

You are correct. I tested camera raw on an image from my current camera and title bar just listed JPEG. I checked the sigma dp2 image again and the title bar did list the camera name. But this camera is not listed on the list of supported camera. So i take it that even though it's not on the list it is actually supported in camera raw? The test images that I downloaded were from a camera review of the Sigma dp2 on dpreviews.
