Very WIDE images won't show original

I'm pressing the limits of something here and would like to know what the maximum width I can display in an 'Original' version of a photograph.

I was thinking of creating a gallery of super wide panos.
I uploaded an 'original' jpeg version.
IMHO: The 3x version is too small:

but the Original version won't load up:

It's wacky wide at 16190 x 1840, (print size ~ 6"x54") But the total file size is 5.7meg. I can certainly get this down to 2-3 meg by reducing jpeg quality when I make an 'original' for display on SM.

Suggetions?

    Ahh...
    Ad Block Plus is the culprit. I've added SmugMug and my domains to be ignored.
