This may very well be my favorite National Park in US ever. Nice photos. Did you visit any of the cliff dwellings?

    Allen,

I found Mesa Verde NP very interesting. I normally like the Rockies, but was intrigued here. I've got it on my "visit again" list.

I did take a bunch of shots of the dwelling sites. To be quite honest, I had forgotten about the shots, so I haven't processed them yet. I had to recover them from CF cards due to a complete WD external HD crash. I didn't get all of them recovered, but I got quite a few.

Thanks for looking and commenting thumb.gif

I am with you on the "visit again" list. The Balcony House is my favorite cliff dwelling. How can I forget the steep and long ladder that we had to climb. It was very Indiana Jones-ish.

    Nice photos, Randy! thumb.gif

I was fully expecting to see the cliff dwellings, but it's refreshing to see the surrounding area. Let's you see why it would have been a nice place to call home.

    Thanks Dan,

One of the two evening I was there produced one of the most spectacular sunsets that I've witnessed. The sky just exploded, like a volcano just erupted. Unfortunately, when that happened, I was taking my freezing wife back to camp. We were on the motorcycle. My heart just sank when I saw it, knowing that it would only last a minute and I couldn't get into position for a shot :cry

I did get a shot not long before the big sky explosion though:

Beautiful work, Randy. I love #2--I'd love it even more if you sent it to me for Christmas later this year! :D

So sorry you "missed" the spectacular sunset . . . but your fallback shot from before the explosion is pretty durn nice!!

    Cheers,
    Lauren

    Your probably right Dave,

I might just break down and make this the first of my work to ever go on my own wall. I can never decide... ne_nau.gif

Nicely done, Randy. I've really got to book more time out in that neck of the woods. That exploding sunset shot is purely spectacular. If that doesn't hit your wall, something is wrong with you. I can't imagine what the one you didn't shoot must have looked like.

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

Thanks for the reminder, Randy--it's not just getting the shot with the camera. It's also about enjoying "the shot" by just looking at it!

    I'm not afraid of getting things I ask for . . . it's happened to me a lot! mwink.gif
