I was wondering if there is a way to:

1.) Set up a Smug Mug Gallery that hides the other galleries on my site, including in the URL (even if this is done via URL Forwarding, does that work somehow?)

2.) Set up a link that will bring someone into a password protected Gallery? We have foster children and can't share the images with the world, but would like to provide people like their social worker a link that works without having to have them type in a password.
Canon 50D and 2x T2i's // 2x 580ex II // FlexTT5's & MiniTT1's
EFS 17-55 f/2.8 & 10-22 // Sigma 30mm f/1.4 & 50mm f/1.4
Sigma Bigma OS // Canon 70-200 IS f/2.8

Set the gallery to hide owner and it will turn off all things that point to you including the domain and all customization and the breadcrumb. You can then pass a link to anyone and all they will see is that one particular gallery with no references to the rest of your site. That's exactly what Hide Owner is for.

For your second question, you first say you want them to have a password, then you say you don't want a password so it isn't clear what you want.

If you want a gallery without a password that is not advertised to the public (e.g. not listed in your homepage gallery/category listings) and not have a password, then set the gallery to unlisted. Nobody will see the gallery by browsing your site, but if you pass them a link they can go right in. You should realize that this is like an unlisted phone number. It's not in the public directory, but once anyone knows it they can use it freely. It's obscurity, not actual security (useful in some circumstances as long as you understand what you're getting). Actual security comes from passwords.

If you want a gallery with a password, just put a password on it. You then send them a link to the gallery and when they follow that link, they will be prompt for the password before allowed to view the photos. The password-protected gallery could also be unlisted if you don't want it listed in your site and only you will see it on your site.
