Worth upgrading to Pro? and question about 'Contact the Pro' feature

I've been a Smugmug Power account user for 2 years now and my account is due to be renewed. With the recent "Contact the Pro" feature added to a user's site footer, I was wondering if it would be worth upgrading to Pro? I was told that Smugmug does not track sales for Power users and I believe I have sold several prints at least to friends in the past year, however I was not prompted to enter my email address with the new Contact the Pro feature. Is this BECAUSE I'm a Power and not a Pro user?

Can you help me with my confusion over this new feature, so I can proceed with my renewal? Thanks!

    As far as I know the "contact the pro" feature is available only on pro-level accounts.

    If you do upgrade to pro, you will need to set prices on your photos to be notified of sales. Even on pro sites, sales at Smug's default prices are not reported.

    I don't think that is the case. I have a Pro account but do not set any prices. I had a friend purchase a print recently and I got an email from smug informing me of this. The sale is also listed in my sales history.

    I think you are right and I think it changed when coupons came on board, possible having to do with you can make a coupon thats good to sell px with no markup.

    There are a lot of features that make it worth upgrading to pro. "Contact the Pro" is hardly one of them. It's just an email form. It lets you keep your email address hidden while still being able to receive emails. In its current form, it probably hardly ever gets used... it just changed who gets the email when someone clicks "contact" in the tiny print in the footer. I don't see the big deal. Might be more useful when it links to a page we can use in a navbar or something.

    But anyway, yes, upgrade to pro. :D
