Our thanks and gratitude folks! Indeed we were busy, *ahem*:D and yet still managed to get in some time for shots. Heh, like several hundred from each of us! We were lucky enough to witness the splendor and awesome beauty of places like the Witchita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, Turner Falls park, and I think every lake in the Duncan Oklahoma region. Saw and shot bufulo, elk, vultures, deer, Dani was the absolute best hostess, we went horseback riding (4hrs ouch!) which brings me to my next point... The scar... heh Well, I got that on the horseback trip (the truth!) and by fending off a pack of mountain lions! Or, a pride of wild boars... One of those...
Ok, the dang horse I rode had a amazing penchant for finding any and all bushes, trees, and shrubbery on and off the trail we rode and got pretty scratched up in the process. It was comedic genious on the part of "old grey"...
Here's a shot of Dani getting in a sunset at Mt. Scott, one of my favs... Lots more to come from the two of us...
AJ
Looking forward to the pics Dani & AJ

So.. yup.. AJ and me had a blast! We had tons of fun together, and as AJ said, we kept pretty busy... and yup, even took photos! lol
Heres my funny story for the trip... I seem to have acquired a new nickname.... Dani 'roadkill' Haney lol... We were driving back from shooting a sunset at one of the lakes and I'd brought up that driving the backroads at night makes me kind of nervous because there are alot of animals out at that time.... most especially armadillos though because they have the potential to do alot of damage... and well.. no one wants to run anything over and hurt it That and any oncomming vehicles make it even harder to see!
Anyways... we'd just finished that discussion and were about to meet some oncomming traffic... and as we crest a small hill and head down into a dip we just meet a truck from the other direction and I see it...... that familiar grey football with legs and ears shape... an armadillo! I had time to think 'oh crap' and then it was all over. *SPLAT*.. DOH!!!! :cry
of course.. now its a big joke between us... and we crack up every time we see roadkill on the side of the road. AJ says I need those roadkill stickers for the side of my car... you know, the ones with the X's through the eyes?
This is what happened when he made one too many roadkill jokes though :lol
heh....
I do Love him very much though... even if he does use a Nikon... At least we don't have to fight over lenses!!!!

Well, I can't think of a better thread to make my first post to than this one... the both of you look great together - all the best to the both of you!
AJ - good on you for further advancing Canada-USA 'relations'!
Cheers,
Glad to see AJ and Danielle posted here by Andy. AJ sent Barb and I four or five pix including this one. When we met him during Tulipfest in Ottawa he couldn't stop talking about Dani and we enjoyed it although, at the time we thought he was kidding us. Now after four or five e-mails telling us he was going south by air to see his 'sweetie' we couldn't ignore it any longer.
He came back with a myriad of photos of the 'two lovebirds' and other humorous back-and-forth between two cameras of landscapes, jail (lol) etc.
Now they are going to visit us in later this month so we'll be able to meet the love of his life. That should be fun.
Barb and I are so happy for the both of them and that our friend AJ is walking around with stars in his eyes.
Nice to see something like this happening to two STF'ers (now dgrinners).
Bob Hepburn. Maple Leaf.
Ginger, Gubbs, Sid, Phil, Michiel, Nir, Ian, Gus, Salman and Bob we really appreciate it.
Ok, more good news...
Dani is flying up here arriving Aug 27 for three weeks!!!! Boy do I ever need to clean my apt....! And it will give time for my scars to heal, heh heh.
Once again everyone's well wishes are appreciated!
AJ
