Would it be possible to have personalized URL aliases?
Background:
I am hosting my own website where I also displayed my galleries. About 3 years ago I set up a Smugmug pro account so that I could sell my pictures.
I optimized my website galleries for maximum search impact. One part of this is to have hand chosen urls for each image
example:
http://www.aguntherphotography.com/usa_west/valley-of-fire-sp/cave.html
the same image exists in my Smugmug account:
http://store.aguntherphotography.com/USA/WEST/Valley-of-Fire/10964686_R3JyH#766228104_cFgkz
I would love to consolidate my efforts and permanently replace my own gallery hosting with my Smugmug Pro account.
It would be nice if I could forward all my picture urls to a subdomain that points to my smugmug account, but it would be much easier if I could replicate the url structure of my own website (including the .html)
Since those are simply search friendly urls of my CMS and not html files, I assume that something like this should be possible?
I appreciate any comments you may have that help me get this project done.

Thanks gluwater. Thats one step further to the goal.
I am trying to figure out how to forward all my urls with mod rewrite. Not having .html is probably o.k., but if there is some random picture number in the url, I can forget forwarding all my url requests to a corresponding smugmug url.
Need to put on my thinking hat in a lazy moment. Meanwhile, bring on the good ideas.

I tried your suggestion, but it appears that I still need more help.
I just uploaded a new gallery, following your guidelines.
I put one image on my website:
http://www.aguntherphotography.com/usa_west/hovenweep-nm/hv-stronghold-house.html
The name of the image is:
hv-stronghold-house.jpg
I uploaded the image with exactly this name to my smugmug gallery, but it came out looking like this:
