Spider likin' Lichen

Sorry for the cruddy title but...
I saw the opportunity to get this shot when I spotted the lichen on the twigs/branches of our apple tree, and knew, just KNEW that I wanted a spider or a beetle or something on there with it!
Well, fortune favours the brave, so I found myself an accommodating wolf spider this evening and sat him on the branch. After a lot of false starts, and fingers blocking routes of escape, and nudges of encouragement to have him travel in the right direction - i.e. to the lichen, not off on to some other twiggy part of the branch... and eventually, he settle for just a short while more or less where I wanted him too.
And so you see the result below.
I have to admit, I was quite pleased with the result. In fact, I might save it for the camera club comp for next month!
C&C as always encouraged.

So what specie is the male house spider? This one was a resident of the garden.
