Here are a few snapshots I took back in October in the Crooked Bush during my Saskatchewan excursion. We visited this unusual attraction at the wrong hours of the day (about noon) and maybe also the wrong season.
There's no official explanation for the unique way in which these trees are growing, so the stories abound: the trees went nuts after a UFO landing, radioactivity, a lightning strike, etc. You get a different explanation depending on who you ask.

The place is really unique, and could be the perfect setting for a horror movie scene. I wish I had been able to return at night for some light painting...
