Easy way to bulk change category?

I've just come up against something rather frustrating.

I am using a main category called Family (one of the built in SM cats) for around 60+ albums.

I have subcategories set to years 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 each with at least 12 galleries/albums per subcat.

Today I decided I want to change the category Family to one called Albums. Since Family is a default name I can't just rename the category. I can't find an easy way to move all the subcats and their albums from Family to a new cat called Albums.

The quickest way I found to do it is to go to gallery settings and choose multiple galleries then have to go to the drop down one by one and add each gallery for a particular year then change its cat and subcat but that is a big pain.

Maybe I'm missing something easy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi - Sorry, there is no easier way to to this. But I just did the 2004 and 2005 albums for you and it only took me a couple minutes to select all the galleries. Yeah it's kind of a pain so if you need more help doing it just send a note to our help desk and we can assist you.

I appreciate you trying to help but do you have an undo feature? You killed all the subcats for all those albums. All of 2004 and 2005 now have no subcat and are broadly just sitting in the Albums category. I'm going to have to manually try and figure out which belong to which years now.

On second thought please don't do anything else to my account. I will go in and fix all the albums.

You're right, sorry about that! For some reason I thought that it would carry over the sub-category setting. Looks like you have it back to normal. Again, my apologies.
