I have been working 7 days a week for a while now so I haven't been around here much, or able to get the time to have any
photography fun ... The weather finally cleared and I was able to get over and visit our Tennessee wintering Sandhill Cranes ...
estimates put the population at a 20 to 30 thousand.

That working stuff brings back some bad memories. Please refrain from referring to that activity in the future. deal.gif

    Excellent captures. clap.gif

However if y'all have 20,000+ sandhills how come you're only showing us pics of 2 of them? You're a few thousand short.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thanks Harry ... Your comments made me laugh. I will endeavor to get photos of each of the thousands of Cranes ... however they are very difficult to schedule ... I think they must have a very strong union!

It is becoming very restrictive around here ... We cannot talk or post photos of "tree rats" and now we cannot mention the "W" word! We need to see a copy of the rule book! rolleyes1.gif

    Very nice, Bob! thumb.gif

They sure have more of a silvery look than when they're up here. Where were these taken? When do they start back my way?

Thanks for posting the "Tree Rat" pic for me Ric ... I can always count on you to have my back!

The Sandies here are all ranges of color, from the silver that one of my pics shows to almost a white (like a whooping crane) and then the darker gray models. The Cranes here usually start leaving by the end of January to mid month in February. We will have a few thru March many times. Oh these are from the Hiwassee Wildlife Refuge in Dayton, Tennessee. It is a state of Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency managed refuge.
