Went down to East Beach in Watch Hill, Rhode Island, Wednesday evening for sunset. I saw the clouds this afternoon at about 2pm, and thought that it could be a good sunset. I hurried through the rest of my work, and left about 3. Got there with plenty of time, screwed around for a bit, then set-up for the light show.

Are these only long exposures, or do my eyes detect a little HDR or layer work going on here?
Wow... old school.
Very well done!
And sometimes I still shoot...film.
Seriously though, HDR has really turned me off from the way people take it too far. I understand the merits of it, understand when it should be used, how it can control a un-controllable dynamic range and when done right, it can look really good, and not un-natural. But most of the time, I just don't like it. Fujichrome Velvia 50 can do that sometimes also (look un-natural), but not nearly as bad. I believe in old-fashioned use of filters, and proper exposure in camera to do my work. It streamlines my PP workflow also.
