Question on video cards

I know these are 2 different classes of video cards but I am debating between a consumer PC and workstation, I checked out the processor specs (where the consumer (core i7 975 3.33Ghz) one edges the workstation (Xeon W3540 2.93 Ghz) by 10-15% on the benchmarks I found).
As for the video cards it is:
1GB ATI Radeon HD 4650
VS
512MB NVIDIA® Quadro® FX 580
And how much better one is than the other.
They will be running 2 1920 x 1080 monitors and photo/design programs mostly.
