Home in Ruins (C&C welcome)
I have posted here a few times some pictures from my trip to Ecuador. I went because I was invited by a host family of Indigenous Indians. I stayed for a week in their community and the memories are irreplaceable. I keep going back to one photo in particular.
During my stay the neighbors who lives a few hundred yards away house burned to the ground. Their possessions destroyed by a fire and propane tank explosion, which killed their pet guinea pig.
Here are a series of pictures from that day. But I will post the one picture I am talking about first.
#1
This is the picture I keep going back to. It is really hard to take in. First off they are very poor and to lose their house in which their family grew up in to be destroyed over night is hard to fathom. To me this speaks volumes.
#2
Husband and wife sifting through what is left in tact.
#3
A dis trout mother and wife staring at her house which is off frame with her destroyed possessions behind her.
#4
Daughters comforting their mother.
#5
A father in disbelief.
#6
A family portrait after some grieving over all their losses from that day, but they still have each other.
