Tip: Any portrait (cats, dogs, humans etc.) the focus should be on the nearest eye, although in the case of your pic, the nearest eye is in shadow, so the other eye should be in razor-sharp focus! I'd not bother with auto-focus; it's too hit-or-miss; (IMNSHO) better to use manual!
