Here are a few pictures of the desert after the gully washer - literally! Most of the roads were closed so access was limited.

I got caught in a 4 day storm years ago while camping north of Phoenix. I forgot just how beautiful it was when the rain stopped. Thanks for sharing these great shots.

There is nothing more aromatic than the smell of the grease wood in the desert after a rain! You could almost see the green grass growing after all that rain - and more is expected!

Sadly, we saw too many people crossing the road closure barricades with their four wheel drives. Rather than stay on designated roads they were ripping up the desert to watch the mud fly I guess.

Wonderful series, Eia! That first one is really beautiful. I didn't have the same lovely light when I was there. The stream shot is cool, too.
