The trouble with the wetlands

Hi you'll,

I have received reports that some of our Wesy Coast bretheren have been unsuccessful at capturing ospreys (must have been to busy shooting night herons) .

Down here in Florida we have the opposite problem. We have too many ospreys. I start taking a shot of an interesting subject and then this osprey lands nearby and distracts me. uhoh2.gif These are for you Ben. yelrotflmao.gif

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Nice, Harry. Very well exposed! And those pesky Osprey appear to be quite close to you as they have great feather detail.

The problems we birders experience. I found some more Wood Storks tonight.
How are you doing on finding those birds.
They were at Boone Hall Plantation, as far as I know they do not have annual passes. Too bad.
Lots of Wood Storks, up in the trees, all over the place.

    Hey Trish,

They seem to be most active between 10 am - 4 PM. They go to the wetlands to fish and then go off to their nests. When I was there yesterday there were three of them zipping around.

    Hey Ginger,

Thanks for the kind words. Wood Storks are regular visitors down here. I got one who stops by the pond behind my house every morning.

I don't think anything can help Ben with the ID as I don't think he has ever seen one of these before. rolleyes1.gif

    Ben, Ben, Ben,

Normally i would be more than happy to give you my 500mm. :bs
However you are doing so well with the 300mm I would hate to slow down your growth as a photographer. The 500mm makes it too easy. It takes the challenge out of getting the shot. I like you too much to do that to you.
