Share, Be Social, Facebook, "Page"

When I go through the steps of Share, Be Social, Facebook it gives me one option of posting to my profile.

Problem is I've created a "Page" for my business that has it's own photo gallery. Is there something somewhere that will enable me to post to my "Pages" gallery instead of to my "Profile".

Thanks,

Hmm, I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to do. Could you describe it in more detail and maybe give an example?

    Thanks,

I use the "Simple Mug" application on my personal profile (it adds a limited galleries tab), but that doesn't work with fan/business pages.

If you just want to update your activity feed then "RSS Graffiti" isn't too with the standard RSS feeds - e.g. http://www.facebook.com/EntropicTendencies

    Facebook Connect To "Fan Page"

Facebook offers what is called "Pages" they are used to promote your business. They are tied to your "Profile".

What that means is when I choose to upload from my smugmug it connects with my "Profile" and not the "Page" I created for my business.

I was looking for instruction on/if it was possible to have it hook up to my "Page".

I do not keep photos on my "Profile" I keep all of them over on the business side which is the "Page".

Hope that gives a better explanation...?

I too want that the SmugMug link or photos appear on the wall of my (professional photography) Facebook "page" rather than on the wall in my personal facebook profile. Not sure if Facebook allows this but it would be nice if SmugMug gave us the choice between posting a link of our photos on our personal wall or on the wall of one of our pages.

I'm not sure who we need to be talking with on this, facebook or smugmug?
When using the "Be Social, Facebook" link it works just dandy. Problem as you and I well know is it's going to our "personal" profile and not our business "page". So, I'm not sure that smugmug could connect to a "page" per say.

I'm actually thinking about creating a "profile" using my businsess name instead of a "page". Then create the "page" from within the new "prfile". At least it would be one upload. The way I'm having to do things now with facebook is bypass smug all together...? Don't make much sense paying for something and not use it...?

I'll keep an out here, if any results are found post here.

I asked Smugmug on this and they didn't really give me a straight answer... seemed as thought they didn't know much on the topic. Inquired again and have yet to hear back.

You can use the "Notes" app to import an RSS feed. I have the Notes app on my "Page" set up to import from my recent photos feed, so it updates whenever I update any of my galleries on SM.

but I don't want photos in my "profile". I want them only on my business "page".

Seems like I could give smugmug my business "page" url and it could be added as an option to upload too...?

They aren't on my profile, they are on my business FB page. Did you look at the link? It is a business page!

I saw it was a business page, but thought you were loading via your profile...my bad.

I see now what you are doing. I just added the notes tab on my "page", put the link from my smugs recent photo rss into the import link area and all my recent photos showed up. So, yes your way works to that extent.

Two things I've already noticed about this method that will make it unusable for me.
    First, no watermarking...?

Second, I have no control over where to put the images. If I add a weekend trip from the beach, I'll want them to go into an "Seascapes" area/album.

    Thanks for your help though.

I don't watermark so I don't know if that would transfer or not. But the photos are not actually being imported to Facebook anyway, it is a link to my smugmug site, so if you watermark on your site, then when people visit the links in the imported feed, they will see your watermarks. It seems like you want to import your actual photos to facebook... which makes one wonder, why bother having the smugmug site at all if you are going to try to keep people on your facebook page instead? ne_nau.gif

It's not that I'm trying to keep "them" there. I'm trying to keep organized.
