Auto watermarking is adding watermarks to all photos ... not just new ones

Hey Guys,

Either I am an idiot (very possible or even likely) or the auto-watermark feature that I have turned on just auto-watermarked all of my photos in my main gallery, to include ones that I had already watermarked with a different application. So a lot of my photos now have two different watermarks on them. It looks really dumb.

I thought it was supposed to only watermark NEWLY added photos when you click "auto watermark from now on" in your gallery settings.

Am I doing something wrong?

When you go to Tools > Gallery Settings, and turn Watermarking on, you should see a check box "Apply to existing photos in gallery" appear beneath the watermark setting. If that is checked, the watermark will be applied to the existing images in the gallery. If it's un-checked, it should only apply to newly added images to the gallery. I replied to your other post as well, and if you need to remove any watermarks, you can do so under Tools > Many Photos > More > Watermarking.

I had the problem recently, though, where the "Apply to existing" wasn't working... I mean, I made sure it was not checked, and then it applied the watermark to existing ones anyway. I forgot to report it... this was a few days ago, and I haven't checked it since then.

I just added another image to my "portfolio" gallery (I created a copy in another gallery, then moved it over), which was supposed to be watermarking automatically, and it hasn't been watermarked. I've tried toggling the different setting for the gallery, with no luck. Any reason why?

Did you wait a bit? It usually takes a little while. It's not "automatic" as in "instantaneous".

It's been around 48 hours, I hope it doesn't normally take that long.

Contact me on help desk with the exact images that are not marking. I need to take a look. It is working correctly for me so I need to see the images and the watermark to figure out what is going on. headscratch.gif

    Watermark issues
I am jumping on this thread, hoping I am not creating a problem here. I have a similar problem to @Robonivich.

I have a gallery with a custom watermark. However several of the photos are not getting watermarked (it has been weeks). I don't know what is different about those particular files???

Here is an example in the gallery that is working:

and one that is not working:

They are right next to each other in the gallery.

    Thanks!headscratch.gif

    Nathan,

I am not sure why it is not working for you. I just applied Watermark1 and it is working. I do note that several of your marks all have the exact same name and one of them is using a photo that is deleted. You really should change those names to be unique as it can cause confusion.

If it continues to have problems, please let me know.
