Recently returned from the Caribbean, this was my first trip for with the intention of getting fine art shots and at least I am happy with the results. If you have any C&C I would love to hear it :) Everything was shot with a D200 and the 17-55 f/2.8 lens. All processing was done with Capture NX2 and they were shot in RAW.

This region of the world is in my top 3 list of locations.

I enjoy your use of black and white and the extremely purposeful use of color. I am not sure what you mean by "fine art"? I dont mean to stir the pot of defining art but only challenge you to explain how these images would differ if not labeled as such.

Thanks for the response. I would say the reason I would use "fine art" is because I would like for someone to look at the images and have to say something. There would be an emotional response when they see the photograph and then they would want to investigate the image further.

Ok, I think there could be more mysterythumb.gif This is difficult as there seams to be a thin line between readable and abstract, at least for me! Most museum curators of photography would say that the artist must include something of themselves, bring up their questions and cause the viewer to struggle along with them. What is your question? I am not asking you to define that in these images but just what I have heard defines fine art photography......

I like your post and hope you keep working at it.

Thanks for the response I really appreciate it. I suppose my question would be is:

How would someone include something of themselves into an image?

Would it be a more consistent "look" to the image or something else? TIA.

Thank you very much, It was pitch black aside from that little bit of light coming in the tunnel when I took the photo, and then when I saw the image on the LCD I knew that there was something special there.
