That's one ugly bird and one excellent shot.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thanks all. There are a few others in various stages of this look. Doesn't make for many
prety shots. They all seem to be in good health though, thank goodness. Last year we had
one with no tail feathers, week later tail grew about one inch worth. We called him
"stubby" and he flew like a bullet.rolleyes1.gif

Very interesting (put nicely) looking bird.eek7.gif That pic brings to mind a coupld lines from a Bo Diddley song. :

" why you so ugly the stork that brought you in the world oughta be arrested!"

"my momma didn’t have to put a sheet on my head so sleep could slip up on me!"

Is it that hot in Bridgeton, MO? Poor guy looks like he's melting. Great shot though!

Might be heat related? We had a stretch of high heat, three days over 100,
and lot in the 90's. Back to normal now. Females are doing ok.

Maybe I should go visit my Magnolia Birds, post haste! (It is raining now.)

I have a hot seagull to post.

But that is definitely a member of the "ugly" side of the family.
Though I rather like it myself.

That one male, looks emaciated. Poor guy.

    ginger

    good shooting, thanks for sharing.

Hi Allen...... gosh what a face or head I should say, wonder what happened to the little fellow..... once this sort of thing happens to a bird, do the feathers ever grow back? ne_nau.gif
