My wonderful husband surprised me by buying me a Nikon D300s for Christmas! :clap So, I'm starting to build my portfolio and make a go at this. Here's some pics from a recent shoot in Deep Ellem, Dallas. I'd love some C&C to see if I'm on the right track.

Thanks! :)

5 and 6... wowowow Love the color, love the PP. Great start on a portfolio. Care to share your color popping techniques or is that wall just that vivid?

I just run a basic boost action on it. The walls down there are amazing! I've been twice now and still not covered half the area. Lots of solid colors, murals, etc.

I love the first 2 pics of your daughter (6 and 7 I think!). I especially like the 'full frame' nature of these 2 shots! HTH:)
More practice needed but learning all the time!:rofl

    Nikon D50, 18mm-55mm, 55mm-200mm, 50mm f/1.8, SB800, LowePro Slingshot 200AW and other bits!

Thanks! :) The second one is my husband's favorite. Now, to get my 2 and 3 year olds to cooperate as nicely! ;)

Good luck! I can get a nice shot of my 2 year old, and a nice shot of my 4 year old, but never together - even as a candid shot! I think I need more patience!!!

    Really, really nice.
I'll have to make a note of this place for next time we end up in Dallas.

It's worth checking out for sure. At night, it's the club/bar/band scene.

Deep Ellum is wonderful. I lived just North of there last year. Such a wonderful spot for urban grit and decay. And not to mention, it is a great place to dance the night away :)

Yeah, you don't want to bring the kids down at night for a shoot! Laughing.gif

    Any other CC? :)

Five and seven are my favorites...nice work.

Please number your shots next time you post. When forum members refer to liking a specific number, we then have to go back and scroll through your post and count to see which one they mean.

    Thanks for sharing...again, nice work.

Very nice, but, then how could you miss with such wonderful subjects.

    What lens were you using?

    Thanks for sharing.

    Welcome "back" wave.gif

Love the set! clap.gif #1 is nice, but because of how she is positioned/the color of the walls, it seems that the hair on *her* left side (and top) is of different color & has a color cast.

My favorites are the last three out of them! awesome wings.gif

I was using my 18-200VR for the top set and for two on the bottom. For the first one on the bottom set, I was using my 50mm 1.8.

Oh, and I'm originally from Eastern NC myself! ;)
