How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

A very good read but it will fall on deaf ears.

I believe this and try to live it but years ago my moving in cost an animal it's meal and it still makes me mad. My stupidity

I don’t rush out to get the shot because I know my actions could possibly lead to the endangering the critters welfare. I passionately believe that NO photograph is worth sacrificing the welfare of the subject. Period! And there is no need for it. Heck, just in the free pages on this site you can garnish enough biological trivia to prevent this from happening. But more importantly, when did the damn click become so damn important?

why don’t wildlife photographers just simply take comfort and peace in the moment

I could have easily written that...falls right in line with my thoughts.

After all is said and done, the experience will trump the photograph EVERY time.
