Fox and Grizzly -

We were on the south edge of Hallo Bay AK this past June photographing Grizzlies. We were probably 4 or 5 miles from our boat and were hiking to a spot where we would photograph grizzlies. We don't carry guns or spray - just one bear flare (similar to a road flare). We had had a full afternoon of bear viewing and were thinking or radioing for our skiff to come get us when all of the sudden we spotted a large grizzly walking the beach. We got set up and started photographing the bear as it fed nearby.
All of the sudden, out of nowhere; a red fox jumped out right in front of the bear (between us and the bear). Next thing I know the bear exploded in chase on the fox. To our surprise, the fox (knowing it was being chased) ran strait for us! The fox ran to within about 10 feet of us and then circled us. to our surprise, the grizzly did too... wow... the fox circled us and then returned in the direction they had come from the grizzly ran in the foxes tracks around us and kept chasing the fox. Neither seemed to even care we were in the universe! But the grizzly that close did get out attention! I managed to get several pictures - (several others on our site).
