If you can't re-shoot then use some smoothing technique in Photoshop or similar image processor, but localized to just the problem areas. The clone tool would be suitable here.

Maybe it could be from the Noise Reduction itself.

I suppose that the noise reduction software could have mistaken it for detail and left it unfiltered. It could also have something to do with the conversion and back through LAB color space. Were you working in 8 bit mode at that point?
