wakeboarding Jan 10
1) EOS 7D, F6.3, 1/1000, ISO 320, 100mm, Shutter Priority
2) EOS 7D, F4, 1/3200, ISO 320, 200mm, Aperture Priority
Not much action, I like the funny face the rider is making
3) EOS 7D, F7.1, 1/1000, ISO 320, 400mm, Shutter Priority

I'm shooting alpine ski racing in Jan 10 and you are doing wakeboarding? Doesn't seem right.
I like #2 the best.
I find the background in #1 too distracting. There's no EXIF data on these so I can't tell what aperture where you using. What were your settings?

Obviously you need to determine what you want from your shots in regards to depth of field but if you look through a lot of the sports shots in this forum, I think you will find that many of them have shallow depths of field to keep the focus on the athlete or action.

My camera is an older Canon 1D2n with it and my lenses combinations I’ve had a lot of burr/focus problems with my wake shots even on days with good light. Using shutter priority and keep the speed up at around 1/1000-1/2000 seems to have helped some. But best results are in manual but I’m too lazy for that.
The 7D worked very nicely even with my 100-400 that get mixed reviews from people; I’m planning to buy one hopeful within the next few weeks.
