Took this one last week while on holidays in Twin lakes, Idaho. This is one of the water hazards on the first hole.

    Thanks Ann, that was 30 minutes, f4.0 and ISO 100.

    Hi Spockling, your star trail image looks great, I don't understand exactly what it is you do though headscratch.gif

    Can you please explain the procedure for those of us who would like to attempt to do this.........

    I'd love to try this in Montana.......thanks for sharing, I like how the circular effect of the stars appear in the sky yet not in the reflection on the water.

    Thanks everyone. I was actually trying to get the star trails reflecting in the pond, but I guess it wasn't quite dark enough to get them. I used the kit lens 18-55 and a tripod of course. The biggest problem I had was focusing(no numbers on the lens) and pointing it at Polaris.(click here) for info on Polaris. I also had to stand guard at the camera just in case the sprinklers came back on.
