looking for camera: long-zoom, pocketable, reasonable video capabilities

Dear All,

I'm looking for a camera for my wife. She needs a point-and-shoot. She loved the long zoom of our old Oly 2100 'Uzi'. She'd also like to use the new camera to record short videos of our kids. We don't care about HD resolution video (it's not a drawback, but not an important factor; reasonable quality 640x480 or even 320x200 is preferred to overly noisy or jerky HD). It should be pocketable and at most $400. What can you recommend? I've been looking at the Panasonic TZ7/ZS3, but I'm sure Canon etc. also have comparable cameras.

The camera is not for pixel-peeping but on-line publishing of family snapshots. I think she'd prefer nice colours and smooth look over accuracy and high resolution/fine details.

We own a DSLR to use in low light, but she finds it too big to carry around and she does not want to deal with the settings. She needs something she can take to the playground, or use in the flat when there's enough light through the windows.

Thanks in advance,
Kofa
