This is another little critter recently discovered outside our house. Amazingly, it actually sat still to be photographed, showing none of the housefly's usual panicky tendency to fly away when anything comes near. It was definitely alive, though; it was walking around as I was shooting it. Maybe it can't fly? :dunno

do you use some sort of cover for the ringflash..i do have one like the one you have, but think its abit to harsh..and trying to find a way to make a diffuser for it..any idea's

No, I haven't experimented yet with trying to diffuse the light from the ring flash. It's already kind of diffuse, especially at macro distances, because the light is coming from all around the lens. I think a reflector or two would be of more use than a diffuser. A second, off-camera flash with a diffuser, triggered from the ring flash, is another possibility.
